The second of a set of three fans we provided for this copper smelter and fabricator, the furnace fume exhaust fan is the main process fan pulling air through the pollution control oxidizer and exhausting it out of the plant. Learn more about the related oxidizer afterburner combustion fan here.

Situated on the back end of the application, this high efficiency induced draft backward-curved furnace fume exhaust fan includes 316 Stainless Steel airstream construction, with a vibration sensor and RTD on each bearing, a custom shaft seal with air purge, industrial epoxy coating, and 400°F max design temperature. It also has an Arrangement 8 direct-drive motor and an outlet connector transition from rectangle to round with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Class 150 flanges to align with the application pipe size.

Copper smelting is a process that purifies and refines copper for use in the production of many products like computer chips and other electronics. Because the process results in Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAP), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) enforces strict standards for emissions from the copper smelting process. The furnace fume exhaust fan is an essential part of meeting those requirements for both safety and compliance.
